One of the most important missions of the Alaska Council, is to attract visitors to the member hostels in Alaska. The Alaska Backpackers Inn, and Girdwood Hostel are the two members of Hostelling International in Alaska. More will be coming along. Please check them out!
The Alaska Council has been active with continuing projects, as we look forward to the imminent opening of a new hostel in Girdwood, and possibly in Sitka, Alaska.

The Fall Meeting was held on August 12,2009, with all members present, plus national officer Blaine Franz. The revised by-laws were voted on and approved, and now we are open for two positions on the Board of Directors.
